It has only been...
... Almost 2 months. It hasn't been THAT long. Okay, maybe it has been a long time. I have missed my friends out here in the wild wild web.Quick update- I have a job that I am still getting used to. We are still unpacking from the move. And I have to carpool to work with a smoker *cough* *cough*.
A month or so ago James and I went out to California to visit family. We were going to see my mom, brothers, grandma and some friends. While we were in the airport on the way there, I talked with my mom and found out that my aunt had a heart attack. During our layover we found out that she had died. So it was the best timing and the worst timing. We switched around the days that we were doing things and going places so that we would be in the right place at the time of the funeral. That was a weird week. It was our vacation, so we wanted to have fun but at the same time, I felt guilty about having fun while my mom was helping to plan a funeral and dealing with family drama.
We did end up going down to San Diego to see friends and had a much needed walk on the beach (it had been WAY too long since I had seen the ocean!). We went to the San Diego Zoo wich was awesome- I highly recommend it! We also went to Bakersfield, which I do not recommend quite so highly unless you just love the sight (and smell) of oil fields.
We only briefly got to see two of my brothers and one sweet little girl (our neice Reagan).
Last weekend my friend, Kristen and I went out to Abilene TX. for a dedication of my uncle's statue. Not a statue of my uncle but a statue that he has been working on for 5 years now. It is huge and it is gorgeous! You can see what it has taken to create by goinghere.
Now I need to do some of that unpacking that I was talking about. Don't expect me to be on here everyday like I was when I had the crappy job where I surfed all day but hopefully, I'll be slightly more consistent. We'll see.
